Frequently Asked Questions

What is PC Piano?

PC Piano uses traditional techniques along with an interactive learning system designed to teach students of any age how to read music and play the piano.

Why is PC Piano a better way to learn to play?

Since information is presented incrementally, students are never overwhelmed. The program tells the student the number of correct notes s/he has achieved. Once a good score is attained, the student goes to the next level. In addition, the program does not allow a student to play a note until the note before is played correctly, practically eliminating incorrect practicing!

I have a MAC, can I use this software on my computer?

Yes! Both MAC and PC versions of the software are available.

At what age should my child start lessons?

Children as young as three can enjoy learning with this method.
Traditional methods require children to have basic motor, reading and cognitive skills.
This method eliminates those restrictions. With colorful and engaging games, even the youngest of musicians can learn to actually read music and play real songs!

Who can learn using PC Piano?

Anyone who has the desire! An important factor in successful learning is motivation. If the student has the desire, and there is good support at home, anyone can learn. This method is especially appropriate for and has been very successful with students with special needs!

How much do lessons cost?

Weekly individual lessons are $25 per half hour. Weekly group lessons are $45 for two students and $60 for three and are 45 minutes.

What do I need to bring to each lesson?

You will need to bring a small note book to record your progress and assignments for the next week. I provide a station for each student (up to three currently) which consists of a laptop connected to an electronic keyboard. I encourage current and potential students to purchase the software and peripheral components ( available through me) for continued home practice.
